Lauren + Justin | Capitol Room
It was so much fun helping Lauren + Justin plan their special day! It was extra special to work with them since Lauren + Justin went to college with Kayla, one of Rustic Elegance’s team member’s, and got married in their cute little college town at a new venue, The Capitol Room. Kellie did a tour of the space and L O V E D it’s modern rustic vibe. Lauren was an amazing DIY bride and M A D E her flower centerpieces.. Out of coffee filters!! Lead planner Kellie loved meeting with the couple leading up to the big day. Once it was finally here, the morning started with the ladies prepping in the bridal suite on the second level of the venue, while the guys went out to a breakfast spot down the street. A little later, they joined at The Capitol Room in the groom’s room to get in their suits for the big day. Once everyone was ready, Justin + Lauren did their first look photos. Annie Galloway captured this P E R F E C T L Y - the couple is so fun and loving and so were all the photos! The bridal party then joined in for some fun group photos before family photos. One of our favorite parts was that Lauren’s Grandma was actually one of her bridesmaids, and was the S W E E T E S T woman.
After pictures with family + friends, it was time for the wedding party to “hide” as guests arrived. The main level of The Capitol Room acts as the ceremony spot and then is flipped/transformed into a beautiful dining space. In the back of the main room, there is a staircase leading to a cute little cocktail hour room, equipped with it’s own bar & space for snacks! After the couple said their I Do’s, guests headed down into the cocktail room and The Capitol Room staff, catering staff, and Rustic Elegance team worked to flip the room. We set up Lauren’s homemade centerpieces: cute little flower boxes made out of coffee filters and colored to look like real flowers - so A M A Z I N G! After a blink of an eye, the room flip was done and it was time to bring guests back in for dinner.
Guests were A M A Z E D as to how the room transformed into such a gorgeous dinner room. For the grand entrance, the couple surprised guests up on the balcony that overlooked the dinner space! Dinner provided by Chef Craig’s Catering was D I V I N E, as was the dessert spread. The couple opted for a simple and sweet dessert table with T O N S of options (including cannolis!!). After dinner + speeches, a few tables in the front were cleared for dancing the night away. Instant Request DJ pumped up the jams and kept the dance floor full all night long!
