Almquist Farm Wedding | Sara + Quinn
As Minnesota wedding coordinators who specialize in barn weddings, we have had the pleasure of working a multitude of weddings at Almquist Farm. That being said, we were so happy to add Sara and Quinn’s Almquist Farm wedding to our list! Kellie, the owner of Rustic Elegance, helped plan the couple’s day via Zoom. Our team couldn’t wait to celebrate Sara and Quinn’s love with their 176 guests at one of our favorite venues!
THE MORNING
As the RE team arrived on-site, it was a rainy morning. As long as this doesn’t interfere with the couple’s plans, we love a rainy morning for getting ready! It gives off all the cozy, intimate vibes (plus it’s good luck)!
The ladies spent their morning with Stephanie Graves who gave them the perfect updos and Bowl and Brush who perfected their glam. As the girls finished, they slipped into their dresses. We love how Sara’s timeless dress from The Wedding Shoppe looked with the mismatched bridesmaid dresses!
Once Sara and her bridesmaids were dressed, she did a first look with them in The Granary. We can’t think of a better way to kick off the day than having your girls hyping you up!
Before the bride and groom stepped outside for their first look, the RE team stopped in to help pin on boutonnieres. We love that the couple opted to have Quinn wear a pocket boutonniere! It’s such a fun trend and helps him stand out as the VIP he is!
Then it was officially time for Sara and Quinn’s first look! Beyond The Pines Photography set them up outside, each with a clear umbrella as it was still raining. As much as rain can be a pain for outdoor wedding elements… an opportunity to use clear umbrellas for photos will always be a win in our books!
Soon after, we lucked out as the rain lightened up for a few outdoor wedding party and couple portraits. The overcast skies made the colorful bouquets from Studio B Floral pop!
THE CEREMONY
As the ceremony neared, we had to make the call on whether we could move forward with the outdoor ceremony we had planned, or move it into the barn due to the rain. To our delight, the rain held off at the perfect time and we were able to continue with the outdoor ceremony!
The aisle was lined with shepherd hooks and bows provided by the couple. Studio B Floral decorated the arch with flowers that were bursting with color against the cloudy skies. Almquist Farm weddings always bring such gorgeous outdoor ceremonies!
As guests arrived, Luke, the bride’s brother, handled all of his usher duties perfectly! He greeted everyone and made sure to direct them to where they needed to go.
Once the guests were seated, the RE team began cuing the processional. Quinn was escorted by both of his parents, followed by 5 bridesmaids and groomsmen. Sara then made her grand entrance with her mom and dad. She looked so stunning you would never guess she had been in and out of the rain all morning!
Sara and Quinn shared a ceremony filled with so much intention and love. From being officiated by the bride’s brother-in-law to giving both moms a corsage during the ceremony, we were obsessed with every detail!
The couple sealed this sweet moment with a kiss before recessing down the aisle as the newest husband and wife! The RE team was there to greet them with a big congratulations and a glass of their favorite drinks.
THE RECEPTION
Our team had set out the pre-packaged snacks that the couple provided for cocktail hour, so we directed guests to make their way to grab a drink and a treat after the ceremony. Meanwhile, the couple slipped away to sign their marriage license and take a much deserved moment to themselves!
During this time, the RE team began cleaning up the ceremony site, relocating the arch flowers to the head table, and ensuring the reception space was all ready. Studio B Floral provided all of the guest table decor, so our team just went through to add any finishing touches!
It wasn’t long before guests found their seats and filled the space with laughter and conversation. As soon as Day One DJ came over the speakers to announce the bride and groom for their grand entrance, the barn erupted with cheers. It was so obvious how loved these two are by their friends and family!
When the couple made it to their seats at the head table, they said a quick welcome speech before inviting guests to enjoy the delicious buffet dinner provided by River Valley Catering.
During dinner there were speeches by the maid of honor, best man, and father of the bride. During the father of the bride’s speech, he expressed their gratitude to everyone who traveled to be at the wedding. It was so fun to hear him list all of the states people traveled from– there were so many!
Next up was dessert, which guests were eagerly waiting for! Nelson’s Ice Cream set up their cart in the barn, which guests (im)patiently waited in line for to satisfy their sweet tooth cravings!
After enjoying their ice cream, the couple took to the dance floor for their first dance to “Beyond” by Leon Bridges. This was followed by Quinn’s dance with his mother to “A Song for Mama” by Boyz II Men. Sara and her dad wrapped up the first dances with a mesh up for 4 songs and a choreographed dance!
Day One DJ then invited everyone onto the floor. It was so fun to watch all of the generations take part in the action! These people know how to have a great time!
As the evening progressed, Almquist Farm started the bonfire so guests could make s’mores using the supplies the couple provided. Domino’s Pizza was also delivered as a late night snack, which everyone appreciated after all that dancing!
Meanwhile, the RE team was busy cleaning up and packing everything away into the designated vehicles. We highly recommend adding on our clean-up package if you want to allow you and your guests to enjoy your day to the fullest! By leaving the cleanup to our team, you and your loved ones won’t have to worry about anything at the end of the night.
When the night came to a close, guests began taking the shuttles back to the hotels. MN Coaches took guests to Country Inn & Suites, while the Treasure Island shuttle took guests to Treasure Island Resort.
Sara + Quinn, we had a great time coordinating your Almquist Farm wedding! We hope that marriage has been filled with as much love and joy as this day.
