Bri + Jake | Legacy Hill Farm
THE PLANNING
Bri and Jake’s wedding day felt like one out of a fairytale! We had so much fun planning with Bri throughout the entire process. We always love getting to know our couples to help us plan the perfect wedding day for them! Throughout the months prior to the wedding, we helped get all details in order for the couple and their 160 guests to enjoy the day to its fullest at the beautiful Legacy Hill Farm.
THE MORNING
The ladies gathered at the Loft at St. James Hotel bright and early to get ready. Lady Vamp Artistry met the ladies there and got to work perfecting everyone’s hair and makeup. Once the artists were finished with each of the ladies, Bri and her bridesmaids made their way to the venue. Upon arrival, they took care of any final beauty touches and Bri slipped into her gown from Flutter Bridal Co. Around the same time, Jake arrived with his groomsmen to get ready. The groom’s jacket had photos of the couple printed inside. We absolutely loved this special touch!
When Bri was ready, she met her bridesmaids outside for a first look. You can tell how stunning she looked just from their reactions, but wait until she sees her groom! Loui Photography set the two of them up outside, and the emotions took it from there. It was such a sweet moment!
After giving the couple time to share a few sweet words, they made their way around the venue to capture bride/groom portraits, wedding party photos, and take photos with their adorable dog, Sparty! As they wrapped up, the RE team jumped in to lead a quick day of rehearsal. We’ve said it before and we’ll happily say it again - we love day of rehearsals!! If you want to know why, head over to THIS blog for more info.
THE CEREMONY
Guests began arriving for the ceremony right on time via A and J Transportation Services. They were met by a beautiful ceremony site that Belladonna had decorated. They provided wildflower arrangements for the aisle and draped the arch to give an elegant look.
The couple opted to have their wedding party sit for the ceremony and only have the MOH and 2 BM walk in the processional (along with the kiddos). Bri was escorted by her father and her grand entrance left everyone emotional! Not far behind the bride was their adorable ring bearer, Sparty! Everyone quickly went from being teary eyed to full of laughter as the pup excitedly ran down the aisle to his parents!
The couple’s officiant, Lindsey, is a family friend. This made all of the words much more relatable and emotional for the couple which was so sweet! To make it even more sentimental, Bri and Jake wrote their own vows, which they read to each other during the ceremony from their vow books. Once they were finished, they sealed their vows with a kiss and were officially husband and wife!
THE RECEPTION
As the couple stepped aside to take a moment to themselves and sign their marriage license, their guests enjoyed yard games, passed apps, and a hosted bar for cocktail hour. Time quickly passed as everyone socialized and dinner was ready to be served! As the guests made their way to the reception, they were invited to grab a glass of champagne from the champagne wall provided by the caterer. The couple decided to utilize assigned seating, so everyone made their way to the escort card table to find their place card. The cards specified their meal choice, as A’BriTin was serving a plated meal.
Upon entering the reception space, guests were met with the beautiful decor that had been carefully placed all morning. Hello Wildflower provided a sofa for the couple’s sweetheart table, an additional buffet hutch for desserts, and did the greenery installation over the couple’s table. The couple wanted to keep the guest table decor simple, so Hello Wildflower placed greens with baby’s breath and candles on each of them, which elevated the space to feel cozy and elegant!
Guests were able to leave their gifts and cards in the upper part of the old barn. The couple provided an old suitcase for cards and we placed their guest book right next to it to ensure guests would sign the book. We also placed a few memorial photos in the upper barn for the couple, which is always a special touch.
Once everyone was seated for dinner, the bride and groom made a grand entrance and said a welcome. The Maid of Honor, 2 Best Men, and Father of the Bride were in charge of speeches and kept guests entertained while eating their meal. The RE team of Kellie and Anna made sure to load up the venue’s hutch with donuts from Hanisch Bakery so they were ready when dinner wrapped up. We definitely didn’t want anyone waiting on this delicious dessert!
After filling up on amazing food, the couple did their first dance to All You Need to Know by Griffen (acoustic version). Each of them were then joined by their parents for the father-daughter and mother-son dances. All of them were so sweet to watch! Alive Studios then amped up the dance floor and kept the vibes going for the rest of the evening!
The remainder of the night was filled with fun activities. The venue provides a lock for couples to add to their fence, so Bri and Jake made sure to add theirs to the collection! Loui Photography also brought the couple out to snap a few stunning golden hour photos. While they were busy with these activities, guests were enjoying the bonfire that the venue had started. In honor of the couple’s first date, the RE team placed pennies by the fountain for guests to make a wish! Later in the night we also had to go fish all the pennies out of the water… add that to your list of reasons to hire a wedding coordinator. ;)
If you love sweets, you may have to consider taking some notes from Bri and Jake! Around 7:45pm, MN Nice Cream arrived to provide a second dessert. We absolutely love their ice cream, and all the guests did too! While everyone was enjoying the evening, Alive Studios had fully taken over the dance floor and kept everyone on their feet! As the night progressed, A’BriTin popped back out to provide even more delicious food - a taco bar! Nobody went hungry at this wedding, and you could tell they truly appreciated all of the yummy treats throughout the day.
The RE Team wrapped up the night by completing our clean up package so that the couple and their loved ones could spend the entire day worry-free. Bri + Jake, this day was truly so much fun and we are so happy you chose to have Rustic Elegance on your team!
A big shoutout to Loui Photography for capturing these amazing photos and sharing them with us!
