Carley + Lance | Big Rock Creek
THE PLANNING
We absolutely loved planning with Carley, Lance, and Carley’s mom, Tami! Lead planner Kellie did most of the preplanning with Carley and Tami to pull together the beautiful day at Big Rock Creek with their 230 guests. It was also super convenient that a lot of the family was able to rent the on-site cabins and spend the night there! The RE team was just as excited as the couple to be at this beautiful barn venue!
THE MORNING
As the crisp Minnesota fall day arrived, everyone was eager to get to Big Rock Creek for the big day! The ladies arrived on site bright and early to get ready, with Glamour Beauty joining them to perfect their hair. The guys were also on site to get ready and hang out in the club house. Meanwhile, Kellie and Anna from the RE Team were busy setting up decor, greeting vendors, and pinning on boutonnieres.
Once Carley was ready, Chelsea Reeck Photography positioned her for the first look with her dad followed by the first look with her groom. Both were so sweet! The couple and their wedding party then made their way around the property for a few portraits before the RE team pulled them aside for a quick day of rehearsal. We also took this opportunity to chat with the ushers about their duties. If you’re still trying to decide on having a day of rehearsal or not, be sure to check out our blog that lays out all the reasons we love them HERE!
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony took place at the venue’s Creekside location. The couple opted to use the venue’s arbor and The Wild Violette hung a beautiful flower swag on it to add a touch of elegance! We also placed the shepard hooks and lanterns down the aisle that the couple provided. Memorial photos were placed on chairs to pay tribute to those who were watching from above. We love this special touch!
As guests arrived, they made their way from the parking lot to the ceremony site. The ushers were there to greet guests and hand out the programs. Once everyone was seated, the wedding party was shuttled down via tractor/hay wagon. The RE team followed closely behind on a golf cart, with the bride and her father behind us in their own golf cart.
The groom was escorted down the aisle by his parents, followed by the 6 attendants on each side, 2 flower girls, and 2 ring bearers. The bride then made her grand entrance with her father, she looked absolutely stunning! The couple shared a sweet ceremony officiated by the couple’s friend Brady. They sealed the special moment with a kiss and they were officially husband and wife! They made their celebratory walk down the aisle and everyone made their way to cocktail hour to enjoy drinks served by Big Rock Creek. The RE team then began cleaning up the ceremony decor and repurposing it for the reception.
THE RECEPTION
As cocktail hour wrapped up, guests were invited to take their seats in the barn for dinner. The couple opted for no assigned seating, and reserved a few tables for family. The barn was decorated with stunning chandeliers and floor length linens from the venue. The couple provided beautiful rustic table decor including wood slabs, mason jars with faux flowers, and votives!
Once everyone was seated, the wedding party and the couple did a grand entrance up the steps. Once the excitement calmed down, the couple said a welcome and invited everyone to enjoy the amazing buffet from Old Southern BBQ! We set-up the cupcakes from Lunds & Byerlys on our Woodsy Dessert Collection and they looked absolutely delicious!
After dinner, we moved a few tables to make space for the dancing. The bride and groom had their sweet first dance together as a married couple, followed by the father daughter and mother son dances. Once those were finished, DJ Sound Productions & Entertainment opened up the floor to everyone to party!
Guests spent the remainder of the night dancing and enjoying the late night snack of wings and sliders from Old Southern BBQ! Everyone was also encouraged to grab their guest favors which were cotton candy bags hanging from twine with a thank you card. So fun and yummy! As the night came to a close, we made sure everything was cleaned and packed up per our clean up package that the couple added on.
Carley + Lance, you two were so much fun to plan and celebrate with! Your day turned out so great and we are so glad you chose to have Rustic Elegance on your team!
