Tia + Nico | Urban Daisy
THE PLANNING
The Rustic Elegance team started planning with Tia and Nico when they were booked at Furber Farm for their reception. In case you haven’t heard, we’ll spare you the details and just say there were many unknowns with the venue. The couple ultimately decided to switch to having their wedding reception at Urban Daisy, while still keeping their ceremony at The Basilica. We were more than happy to make the switch with them! In the end, Urban Daisy ended up being a great space for the couple’s big day. It was our first time at this venue and we loved it. Let’s dive into the details of this lovely wedding!
THE MORNING
The ladies were on site bright and early for hair and makeup at 7am. Ziel Bridal perfected their hair while Beauty by Studee and Warpaint International worked together to give the girls perfect glam. They had a lovely morning together while sipping champagne! Loui Photography also made sure to capture a few bridal portraits of Tia. She looked amazing in her dress from The White Room!
Not long after, the guys arrived and put on their tux’s so that the RE team could help pin on their flowers. 1st Class Transportation arrived with a limo to take the guys to the church, then returned to bring the girls. The couple opted on not doing a first look, so we helped make sure to keep the two of them apart upon arriving at The Basilica. This was the most boutonnieres we have ever seen at a wedding! Tia and Nico chose to provide boutonnieres for the host couples, grandparents, readers, groomsmen, etc. The whole group looked spiffy!
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony was set to take place at 11:30am, which made for a short morning. To ensure we covered all of our bases, Kellie joined the couple at the church while Kierra from our team stayed back at the venue. Kierra worked on continuing to set up decor and greeted vendors as they arrived.
Back at the church, Kellie was rounding up the wedding crew that consisted of 10 bridesmaids and groomsmen, 2 ring bearers, grandparents, and parents. Our team has years of wedding experience, so no group is too large for us to handle! Once the wedding party processed down the aisle, we made sure the doors were shut and Tia was in place for her grand entrance. The anticipation was high since the couple had not seen each other yet. After a deep breath and the go ahead from Tia, the ushers opened the doors for her grand entrance. It was the definition of a wow moment! The couple shared a sweet ceremony surrounded by the love of their family and friends. The special words were sealed with a kiss and the church bells rang as the couple made their grand exit. We absolutely love weddings at The Basilica! There’s truly something so magical about having a ceremony there.
When the ceremony ended, guests gathered on the front steps of the church. As the couple exited the church, they got an epic group photo with all of their guests! Everyone was then invited to check into their hotels and bar hop while the wedding party and family took photos.
Loui Photography gathered the wedding party and took group photos outside of The Basilica. We love how sleek their black formalwear looked! After Tia and Nico’s portraits, they took time to read private vows to each other.
As soon as photos wrapped up, the wedding party got on the party bus from Rent My Party Bus and bar hopped around Stillwater. We love that they were able to have this laid back time in the middle of the day!
THE RECEPTION
Starting at 4pm, guests were invited to begin arriving at Urban Daisy for the reception. As they entered, they were met with passed appetizers from Green Mill Catering and a bar full of options provided by Liquid Motion. When cocktail hour wrapped up, everyone made their way to the next room for dinner. The RE team had placed the linens, which were topped with beautiful decor from The Cutting Garden. The couple provided table numbers that had photos of their dog on them, which was such a special touch. The RE team also set all of the place cards and a bag of almonds as a guest favor at each seat. The head table was beautifully timeless! Kierra from our team carefully hand-tied the bows on the back of the head table chairs. So cute!
Upon finding their seats, guests were met with a pre-set salad. After the couple made their grand entrance followed by a quick welcome and prayer, everyone enjoyed a delicious plated meal provided by Green Mill Catering. Throughout dinner, there were various speeches from the father of the bride, maid of honor, best man, and the couple. Their sweet words brought laughter and tears of joy to everyone in the room!
When the couple finished their meal, we made sure to pull them aside for their cake cutting. Their cake table was truly amazing. From the tiered cake created by Key’s Cafe Bakery to the photos of the parent’s weddings, no detail was overlooked! Guests were able to indulge in this delicious cake, along with various dessert minis that the couple provided.
Everyone was then invited back into the previous room as dancing got underway. The bride and groom danced to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”. The hanging greenery above the dance floor makes for a perfectly romantic scene! This was followed by the father daughter dance to “Drive” by Alan Jackson. The cowboy hats were a fun touch! The mother son dance was to “You Got a Friend in Me”. All three dances were all so special!
Once these dances wrapped up, Some Sh!tty Cover Band got the party started. We have to say, they know how to get a crowd dancing! Moments like these gave Straus Media perfect content to capture for the couple’s wedding video.
As guests were partying the night away, Tia slipped back into the bridal suite for her dress change. We love when brides have a dress change. It’s so fun to see how each gown reveals a different side of her personality!
The night wrapped up with late night pizza from Green Mill Catering, drinks served up by Liquid Motion, and plenty of dancing with Some Sh!tty Cover Band. The RE team helped clean everything up at the end of the night so the couple and their families had no worries. It was truly an amazing day celebrating Tia and Nico’s love!
Tia + Nico, thank you for trusting us to help coordinate your day no matter what venue you landed on. It was a pleasure to work with you through every detail!
Big thank you to Loui Photography for sharing these stunning photos with us!
