On September 27th 2014, Rustic Elegance helped Heather and James celebrate their union of marriage!! They choose Settlment Hill Farm for their ceremony and reception venue. We love this barn! Heather did a lot, and I mean a lot of DIY'ing for their wedding! You can tell how much time she spent by how amazing everything looked!! All the decor and her ideas came to life just as she imagined! The tables were set with vintage plates, burlap and lace runners, along with wood slices, floral arrangements, pearls, candles and don't forget the birds. The dessert buffet, with a lot of sweet options ;), couldn't have been more perfect, as it was set on a old door, supported by wine barrels (from our rental collection) with a carefully hung chandelier above it. Custom wood directional signs were carefully placed throughout the grounds. Heathers personal touches and decor were seen all throughout the barn. Heather's mom even made the favors which were homemade bars of soap. The day was a perfect sunny day, although maybe a little hot for Heathers liking. After the ceremony, the day was filled with a yummy dinner prepared by Amy's Bistro (who has a mobile kitchen by the way). Followed by yard games, music and dancing by the amazing Dj Paul from Midwest Sound (this guy went above and beyond!!). The night was topped off with a smores and hot dog roasting buffet (love this idea)!! All these memories were captured beautifully by Amanda Nippoldt Photography! It was so much fun helping Heather, we worked together so much leading up to the wedding, I feel like I gained another bride friend!A bit about Heather and James:They went to the same high school however James was 3 grades above Heather, so she didn't remember him at all. Heather's brother was in the same grade as James. They became facebook friends in 2010, as she put it "he stalked me. Haha. Eventually asked me to “hang out” with him. Our first date was a movie, cant do much talking at a movie!! Lol. Our second was the state fair! After a few months of “hanging out” we made it official and he moved in with me and my roommates. I believe it was our 3rd or 4th date, I took James on a horse carriage ride at Nicollet Island in Mpls… fast forward to November 2012, he took me on that same horse carriage ride, we stopped over the Mississippi and he proposed"!Heather and James are currently house shopping and expecting their first baby boy shortly!
