Wedding Tips | How to Pin on a Boutonniere

Pinning on a boutonniere can be a little tough if you haven't done it before. We have created these simple steps to help! And we also created an app with the below info, so you can have your flower pinner refer to it in the heat of the moment. Shoot us a message if you would like us to text you the free downloadable app to of "How to Pin a Boutonniere". Thanks to Bel Fiore Studio, Jeannine Marie Photography and Adagio for helping us put this together!

1. Place the boutonniere.
The floral should be facing you, and away from chest. The greenery should be against the chest. Center the boutonniere just below the broadest part of the lapel. The stem should follow the angle of the lapel.
2. Position the Pins
Hold the flower in place with your left hand, turn the lapel over and place the first pin just under the flower head/at the top of the steams.
3. Pin the boutonniere
Weave the point through the coat, into the boutonniere and back through the coat. (sharp part points inward and ends on the underside of the lapel). Place the second pin just under the first pin. The second pin should be parallel with the first pin.
4. Check the Position
Step back and make sure that the boutonniere is directly facing up and that it's securely fastened to the lapel. Once it it's positioned correctly, you're all set.
