Matt & McKenna threw a big backyard wedding that was stunning! McKenna & RE team member Kayla have been friends since they were little kids - joining a swim team when they were in elementary school together. They ended up going to the same college and swimming on the same team together again. College is also where McKenna met her fiance, Matt. They were friends first and it was actually after Matt had graduated from college that they started to date. After 3 years, Matt proposed to McKenna with the help of their pup/ring bearer, Mowgli on a walk that was life-changing!

When the couple was leaning towards a backyard wedding, they knew that Rustic Elegance was a must! McKenna had always dreamed of getting married at her parent’s house on the lake where she grew up. With all the unknowns of planning a tent wedding, the couple met with Lead Coordinator Kellie to start planning their dream wedding. Kellie was also there the day they delivered the tent to ensure that all was set up according to plan. After the tent was set up, We’ve Got It Covered added draping and string lights for the extra WOW factor in this big tent.

The morning of the wedding was finally here! The ladies got ready in the house with Anna Elizabeth Makeup & City Image Salon, while the Rustic Elegance team of Kellie & Kelly prepped the decor for the ceremony and reception spaces. The weather was a little tricky that day, starting out with some rain. The ceremony was set up to be done lakeside, so we all prayed the weather would let up in time. McKenna put on her dress with her mama and did a first look with her bridesmaids, and then proceeded to do one with her dad (so sweet!!!) before finally seeing her future hubby for his first look at his beautiful bride. Megan Tetzloff Photography then snapped some amazing wedding party photos & family photos while the rain let up just in time for the ceremony to be by the lake as planned. Will Clark got some cool shots to use in their wedding video (which turned out perfect!). The couple had their neighbor, Olivia be their flower girl and gave their pup Mowgli the important ring bearer title - they made the most dynamic (and cute!!) duo.

After a beautiful ceremony and a fun little surprise from the pastor (confetti streamers!), the couple drove off in a vintage car down the road to then join their wedding party for a pontoon cocktail hour on the lake, while guests enjoyed cocktail hour under the tent. Dinner was served by Pizzeria 201 and was AMAZING! For dessert, the couple opted for mini cheesecakes with a variety of toppings, and a special cheesecake for themselves (including a lego cake topper which was ADORABLE). Following dessert & speeches, the Musicians Unlimited band turned up the music & got the party started, and kept the dance floor going all night long.
