THE PLANNING

Amanda and Cody were such a lively and sweet couple to work with! Lead planner Kellie had a lot of fun planning with the bride prior to the big day. They were able to chat through what rentals may be needed from the RE inventory to complete the look they were going for. After browsing our selection, Amanda decided on a few signs, a couple of crates, one of our pink sofas, and barrels with a door as the dessert table! Once all of the details were becoming finalized, the RE team was eager to bring everything to life for the couple and their 300 guests at the beautiful Rolling Ridge!

THE MORNING

When the wedding day finally arrived, there was excitement in the air! The ladies were in the bridal suite at the venue enjoying the morning and getting prepped for the day ahead. The glam squad consisted of Arbor Hair Studio and the bride’s friend Abby who handled everyone’s makeup. While the ladies were busy, the guys were also on site at the Rooster’s Roost (aka the man cave). This space is equipped with a tv, dart boards, and foosball table, so you can imagine the guys weren’t doing a whole lot of getting ready that morning!

Once the bride was ready, she met her dad to do a sweet first look. Shortly after, the groom met her outside to do their first look. We are firm believers that pictures speak a thousand words, and these photos from Amanda and Cody’s first look are no exception!

After Rubinski Works captured a few couple’s portraits and wedding party photos, everyone made their way inside for a delicious lunch served by Custom Catering and relaxed after their busy morning. The RE duo for the day consisted of Kellie and Hope, and their morning was just as busy! We worked to greet vendors, set up decor, and run a day of rehearsal.

THE CEREMONY

As ceremony time arrived, guests were either promptly dropped off by Executive Express or arrived in their personal cars and parked in the large parking lot on site. The bar was open before the ceremony, so guests were invited to grab a drink and cool down in the air conditioned building. When it was time to start, the RE team directed guests to take their seats and the bar closed down until after the ceremony. The wedding party was tucked away in the barn, so once guests were seated we cued the DJ and began the processional down the aisle. One of our favorite memories of the day was that the bride’s grandma and grandpa were the flower girl and ring bearer. They carried a sign and flower girl basket as they made their way down the aisle. It was so much fun seeing their childlike energy come out with these rolls! Amanda was escorted down the aisle by her father and left everyone with happy tears in their eyes upon entering!

The ceremony took place with the old barn’s stonewall foundation as the backdrop. We love this location as a symbol for a strong foundation within the couple’s marriage! After sharing sweet words (and an even sweeter kiss) the couple joined hands and made their way down the aisle. They were officially married!

While the couple did a receiving line with their guests, the RE team got to work repurposing the ceremony decor throughout the venue. We also made sure to gather the bridesmaids’ bouquets and placed them on the tables in the reception. This is always a great way to cut costs and reduce waste, plus it’s looks so great!

THE RECEPTION

After guests made their way through the receiving line, they headed to the courtyard patio to enjoy cocktail hour. There was plenty of music, drinks, and socializing to keep everyone busy!

Once we got the ok from Custom Catering, we began directing guests inside the historic barn for dinner. They were greeted with a stunning reception space that had been set by a variety of teams throughout the day! Ultimate Events handled the draping, Custom Catering placed the dining supplies, Floral Arts added the flowers, and the RE team topped off all of the couple’s personal details! We especially loved the backdrop behind the head table that had a hanging gold sign of the couple’s last name.

When all guests were seated, we cued the DJ and wedding party to begin the grand entrance. Upon reaching the head table, the couple said a welcome and Custom Catering began serving the plated meal shortly after. Guests enjoyed their dinner and then a few funny, yet sweet, speeches were said before guests had dessert. We placed the couples cake at the head table and then set up brownies and cheesecake bites from Cold Spring Bakery on our barrel dessert table. Catering also provided a wonderful coffee station for guests to utilize.

After dessert, guests gathered in the courtyard to witness the first dances under the open sky. The couple did their first dance to Bless The Broken Road, followed by two sweet parent dances. Midwest Sound then opened up the dance floor to all guests, and it was packed all night long and guests loved dancing outdoors! Cody took a special liking to the song Dance Monkey and owned the dance floor for the whole song (which was seriously so fun to watch)!

The night continued on with plenty of dancing, drinks, and even wood fired pizza from Custom Catering as the late night snack. It was truly a party all night long!
