Erica + Dom | Round Barn Farm
THE PLANNING
Erica and Dom were both so fun to plan with prior to the wedding day! You could see their genuine love for each other throughout the whole process, and their big day was no different. Every moment was filled with good vibes from the couple and their 150 guests supporting them at the beautiful Round Barn Farm!
THE MORNING
Erica and her ladies arrived at Round Barn Farm bright and early to begin getting ready for the big day ahead. Tara from Hair Love joined them to ensure their hair was done perfectly and would hold through all the activities ahead! When they weren’t getting their hair done, each of the ladies did their own makeup. This allowed everyone to do their glam exactly how they like it! After getting ready, the bridesmaids and a few friends helped to place the greens and flowers provided by Clara Joyce Flowers on the tables.
Once everyone was dressed and ready, it was time for the first looks! After doing a grand reveal with her bridesmaids, Erica made her way to the pavilion for a first look with her father. All of the reactions show just how stunning the bride looked! Then it was time for her to meet her groom for their magical woodland first look. Here at Rustic Elegance we absolutely love when a rustic scene meets the elegance of the wedding day! ;)
After the couple’s intimate moment together, their wedding party joined them for group photos. It was an overcast day, but thankfully the rain held out until after dinner. This worked out perfectly for pictures because there were no shadows to work around. KMP Photo did an amazing job capturing the wedding party (and the entire day)!
THE CEREMONY
There were many details that went into the ceremony, so we made sure to pull everyone involved aside for a day of rehearsal. The couple’s flower girl and ring bearer were both young (and adorable) kiddos, so we wanted to make sure that they were confident with the walk and knew where to go when they reached the end of the aisle. Erica and Dom also had grandma and grandpa involved in the processional, so the day of rehearsal gave them an opportunity to get a feel for the walk and find out where to sit. The bride also wanted to enter at a specific point in the song, so we were able to work with DJ Gregory Ellis to ensure we had that element perfected. There were other various components, including 3 readings and the groom’s sister singing a song, that were able to be rehearsed as well. It’s great to rehearse these things the day of the wedding so that they are fresh in everyone’s mind and in the actual location of the ceremony. If you want even more details about why we love day of rehearsals, be sure to check out our blog HERE.
The ceremony location itself was absolutely stunning as it overlooked the bluff with the fall colors in full swing! The cross that the bride's father made to put behind the arch and the florals from Clara Joyce Flowers brought the whole vision to life. After the sweet ceremony where the couple officially became mr and mrs, Erica and Dom took the advice of their photographer and got a group photo with all of their guests. We love how this turned out and know the couple will cherish the image of all their loved ones together for years to come!
As guests cycled through the couple’s receiving line under the willow tree, the RE team moved the arch flowers to the sweetheart table. This is yet another great way to cut costs on your wedding day, plus it reduces waste and looks beautiful!
THE RECEPTION
Cocktail hour was quickly filled with laughter and socializing, paired with drinks and passed appetizers from A’BriTin. Guests were invited to sign the couple’s guest book which was a book filled with parks as the couple has a love for nature. We love how personalized this was to their joined interests!
Once guests took their seats, the wedding party made their grand entrance. Upon reaching their sweetheart table, the couple said a sweet welcome, invited everyone to cheers, and it was time to eat! A’BriTin served a plated meal that was timely, professional, and delicious (as always)! The caterer also provided dessert, which was a GF couple’s cake and sheet cake for the guests. After dinner, DJ Greg played a song and the newly married couple quickly ran to each guest table, where KMP Photo captured a photo of the guests at that table along with the couple, all before the song ended. This got the energy up and ensured that the couple would have a photo with every person who was in attendance!
One thing that we will never get over at this venue is the first dance location. String lights are draped from the top floor to the bottom floor to provide a magical vibe. The couple dances on the lower floor while guests view the dance from above. It is truly so romantic!
The rest of the night DJ Greg kept the music going while A’BriTin kept the drinks flowing and provided a late night snack of wood fired pizzas. The dance floor was filled with happy people with full bellies of delicious food! Everyone partied the night away and White Glove Shuttle arrived right on time to take everyone safely back to their accommodations.
Erica + Dom, we are so happy you chose to take Rustic Elegance on the wedding journey with you! Wishing you many years of love and happiness!
