Gabby + Grant | Furber Farm
THE PLANNING
Gabby and Grant were such a sweet couple to work with! Rustic Elegance owner, Kellie, did most of the planning with the bride. We don’t have the opportunity to do many winter weddings since we specialize in backyard and barn weddings, so we were excited to plan their December wedding at Furber Farm for their 224 guests!
THE MORNING
The ladies arrived on site bright and early to get ready in the beautiful bridal suite on site with Ziel Bridal who perfected their hair and makeup! The guys arrived shortly after to get ready in the groom’s suite. Of course they had to pull a few chairs in front of the TV to watch the game!
Once Gabby was finished with hair and makeup, she slipped into her gown from Bella Bridal Boutique. She was looking stunning!
Madison Delaney Photography then led the bride outside for the first look with her father. This was such a sweet moment for them to share!
Of course Grant was up next for the first look with his beautiful bride! Madison Delaney Photography had the couple start back to back so they could share their sweet words with one another. They then turned around for the grand reveal and fell in love all over again!
Their photographer led them around the snowy barn venue for a few portraits before inviting their wedding party to join. Even on a chilly winter day, you can feel the warm love radiating in these photos!
The RE team then pulled the wedding party aside for a quick day of rehearsal, which allowed the photographer to sneak away and capture detail photos of everything that the vendors had been setting up all morning!
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony took place in the lower level of the barn. Encore Events provided draping and an arch as the backdrop and to divide the ceremony space from the remainder of the barn. Bellagala added poinsettias for a pop of color and to match the elegant holiday vibes of the couple’s decor! Gabby and Grant opted to use our unplugged ceremony sign and easel at the entrance so everyone would see it as they arrived.
Once the guests were seated, the RE team worked with Berndt from Adagio DJ to cue the wedding party and corresponding music. There were 6 members on each side, and all of them made it down the aisle smoothly! Gabby made her grand entrance escorted by her father and the special moment brought tears to many guest’s eyes! To make the ceremony even more touching, the officiant was Grant’s uncle. He was able to add so many sweet touches to the ceremony from his own experience watching the couple’s love story! Gabby and Grant did a handwashing for the unity symbol and used our tree branch table to display the supplies. They said their I Do’s and sealed all the sweet promises with a kiss before making their way down the aisle as husband and wife! The wedding party then jumped on a party bus from Rent My Party Bus and did some bar hopping while guests made their way upstairs for cocktail hour.
THE RECEPTION
While guests were upstairs enjoying passed appetizers from Lake Elmo Inn and drinks served up by Tinucci’s Catering, the venue, caterer, and Rustic Elegance teams flipped the downstairs space for dinner. We absolutely love the decor that the couple chose! It was incorporating the holiday vibes for December, while still primarily being elegant wedding decor. The couple provided table numbers, rented LED candles from Rustic Elegance, and Bellagala created stunning winter floral arrangements. It was a beautiful space for Precious Film Co to capture the couple’s wedding video!
Once the dinner space was ready, the RE team began inviting guests to make their way downstairs to find their escort card and their seat. Berndt from Adagio DJ said a welcome and introduced the wedding party for their grand entrance from the second floor. We always love watching the fun ideas everyone has for their unique entrance! Once the excitement calmed down, the father of the groom said a prayer and invited everyone to enjoy the delicious plated meal from Lake Elmo Inn!
When it came time for toasts and speeches, Tinucci’s Catering provided champagne for the wedding party and parents. There were many sweet and humorous words shared by the two maids of honor, the best man, the groom’s parents, and the bride’s dad!
On each table there were stands of dessert minis provided by Lake Elmo Inn. This was such a fun touch for guests to enjoy! Woulett’s Bakery provided the cake for the couple and they used the bride’s grandmother’s knife to cut it. We love when the couple includes little things like this to make their day extra special!
When it came time for the dance floor to be open, we pushed the head table back to make room. The bride and groom shared their first dance to “Growing Old With You” by Restless Road. This was followed by both of the traditional parent dances. Gabby chose “What a Wonderful World” (acoustic) by Thomas Law as the father daughter song as it was her parent’s first dance song. How fun is that?!
Adagio then opened up the dance floor to everyone and kept the party going all night! Later in the evening Barndt the DJ helped emcee the bouquet toss and the dollar dance. As the night came to a close, the RE team began cleaning up per our clean up package the couple added on. Guests were also able to get a safe ride to their hotel from Lorenz Bus Co, courtesy of the couple.
Gabby + Grant, thank you for having Rustic Elegance be on your team! We had so much fun coordinating your winter barn wedding and celebrating your love!
Huge thank you to Madison Delaney Photography for sharing these photos with us!
