THE PLANNING

Megan and Leo’s wedding was unique and super fun to plan! The wedding took place on LightHouse Island via the Minnetonka Yacht Club. There were many logistics for us to consider while planning since all 160 guests (plus the amazing vendor team) and everything needed for the day had to be shuttled to the island by a pontoon! Lead planner Kellie met with the couple ahead of time to plan out details. And even got to have Megan’s parents, Megan, and Leo all gather on the office porch for one of the meetings!

When figuring out the layout of the island for the day, we worked closely with Katiee from Apres to nail down the perfect setup for tents, tables, and other rentals. The couple decided on a clear top tent to embrace the beautiful 360 lake views (and it was definitely the right choice)! The tent was set up the Friday before the wedding by Apres. We also decided to do a rehearsal on Friday to prepare for the ceremony the next day!

THE MORNING

The wedding day arrived and it was filled with sunshine and a light breeze making it the perfect temperature for an outdoor wedding! The RE team parked and took the pontoon over to the island bright and early to start setting decor up and greeting vendors. A few friends of the couple arrived shortly after to assist with setting up the ceremony chairs. The ladies were having a busy morning of their own getting pampered by Gem Salon and Nan Fletcher with gorgeous hair and makeup being the outcome!

The wedding party, along with the bride and groom, made their way to the island after getting ready. Upon arrival the bride and groom did their first look which was so sweet! Dempag Photography did an amazing job capturing this moment.

THE CEREMONY

As the ceremony time approached, guests arrived at the parking lot and then took Renee’s Royal Valet to the dock. From there, they jumped on the pontoon and rode over to the island. Upon arrival they were greeted by a butler who offered them hibiscus mojitos before finding their seats. The ceremony was absolutely stunning, taking place in front of the large trees on the island. The Cutting Garden provided gorgeous draping which hung from the trees as well as the aisle decor which consisted of large glass jugs with pampas grass (which we repurposed at the tent). The ceremony was officiated by the bride's uncle, which made it even more special! After the heartfelt ceremony the RE team helped move the chairs to the dinner tent and repurposed the remaining ceremony decor (including placing the bridesmaid’s bouquets on the head table).

THE RECEPTION

As the guests mingled for cocktail hour, they enjoyed butler passed hors d’oeuvres which consisted of mini lobster rolls and wild mushroom and leek tartlet. These were accompanied by a delicious charcuterie platter.

When it was time for dinner, guests found their assigned seats which were marked by placecards. The guest tables included a havana ivory linen and rattan style charger at each seat. The Cutting Garden provided a mix of greens and candles for the center of the guest tables which felt so classy and simple! The head table was made up of barnwood tables along with wood cross back chairs to tie all the decor together. Dinner was provided by Damico and consisted of a plated meal with a choice of chicken breast or tilapia. For dessert, guests had the choice of 4 different styles of cakes from Cafe Latte: Tres Leches, Tiramisu, Fruit Tart and Carrot Cake (such a hard decision)!

The couple then took the dancefloor to do their first dance as husband and wife to “You and Me” by Dave Matthews (it was super cute)! The bride and her dad then did a special dance routine to “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder, how fun is that?! Transmission Music then opened the dancefloor to all guests and kept everyone dancing all night long! Throughout the night guests danced and mingled by the 3 bonfires that the RE team attended and also enjoyed the photobooth. Later, Damico brought out pizzas for a late night snack which guests loved! The night ended with a few guests (including the father of the bride) taking a swim in Lake Minnetonka! When the party wrapped up, everyone headed back on the pontoon to catch a shuttle ride back to the parking lot.

Megan + Leo, we absolutely loved being included in your day and coordinating all of the details. It was such a fun wedding and definitely one for the books!

Special thank you to Dempag Photography for the pictures of this day.
