THE PLANNING

Megan and Tucker were a referral to us from a past wedding client. We are always so honored when our couples refer their friends and family to us. It’s also fun when we get to see the previous clients at the wedding and take a quick second to catch up on their fun married life adventures! Megan and Tucker were so sweet to plan with and we loved helping pull the wedding together at The Barn at Stoney Hills for them and their 275 guests.

A great thing about this venue is that they rent out the house on site to the wedding party for the weekend, so the entire weekend is dedicated to your wedding! This allowed the family to do a lot of setup the night before and to clean up the morning after. It’s a good setup for if you want to handle setup and teardown yourself and not pay someone else to do it.

THE MORNING

When the wedding day arrived, the ladies didn’t have to go far to get ready since they spent the night on site. CJ and Sonji were set up in the bridal suite to make sure that everyone’s hair and makeup was done to perfection! The RE team of Kellie and Hope were also on site to greet vendors, set up last minute decor, and ensure that everything was going according to plan. We also made our way over to the groomsmen to pin on their boutonnieres. Once Tucker and Megan were both ready, Tim Larsen Photography got them set up for a private first look under the pavilion. We always love seeing the genuine happiness in couple’s faces when they see their partner for the first time on the wedding day. It never gets old!

After the couple’s and wedding party photos were taken by Tim, (which turned out beautifully), we pulled everyone aside to run through a quick day-of rehearsal.

THE CEREMONY

The ceremony site (called The Northpoint) is a bit of a trek away from the barn itself, but it is totally worth it for the stunning view! After the wedding party made their way down the aisle, the doors were shut for the bride’s grand entrance. As the doors opened, Megan was escorted down the aisle by her father and met her groom by the rustic wooden arch (which was wonderfully decorated with flowers by their florist, Janelle). The couple then did a tree planting as their unity symbol and shared a picture perfect kiss to end a beautiful ceremony!

After the ceremony, the wedding party hopped right onto a bus from Northwestern Motley Bus to go bar hopping. While they were out they purchased quite a few pull-tabs… sadly, even on their wedding day they didn’t take home the big win!

THE RECEPTION

The barn was beautifully set up with a lot of decor conveniently provided by the venue. The couple’s guest book was a wooden circle with their last name printed on it for guests to sign, and while they were there they could grab their koozie favors. While everyone was socializing and enjoying cocktails, we made sure that the popcorn bar stayed fully stocked for snacking.

Upon the wedding party’s return to the venue, we directed guests to begin taking their seats. The bridesmaids and groomsmen did a grand entrance through the main doors and the bride and groom surprised guests by entering from the loft doors and coming down the stairs. The RE team slowly excused guests to go grab their food from the delicious buffet provided by Clarissa Ballroom. Everyone was also invited to grab a yummy cupcake for dessert from Belgrade Bakery. They also provided the cake that the bride and groom cut.

Once everyone was finished with their meal, the RE team moved a few tables off of the dance floor and swept to make sure it was clean and dry so nobody would slip. The couple shared a sweet first dance to “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur. They also did a father daughter and mother son dance which was just as special! The DJ from Central Events ensured that everyone would have fun on the dance floor for the remainder of the night! Guests were also entertained by the selfie booth throughout the night which was provided by Central Events as well.

We also can’t forget to show off the amazing golden hour that Tim Larsen Photography made sure to capture with the couple. These portraits are seriously so beautiful!

Megan + Tucker, it was so much fun to see the two of you enjoy your wedding day together! We hope that marriage has been just as much fun as this day. We are honored that you chose to have Rustic Elegance on your team!

Thank you again to Tim Larsen Photography for sharing these stunning photos with us.
