Rose + Greg | Backyard
THE PLANNING
We had the pleasure of working with both Rose and Greg for their intimate backyard wedding! Even with a 40 person, laid back wedding, it is so important to have a coordinator present to help ensure all details are well thought out ahead of time. This way the bride, groom, and their families can actually enjoy the day as we handle all vendor communication and logistics!
One of our meetings consisted of RE Owner, Kellie, visiting their house to do the backyard walkthrough. This meeting helps us draw up a layout of their space and decide what tent and rentals are needed.
The Thursday before their wedding, we were on-site to manage the tent setup by Apres and prep as much as possible. The couple rented a bunch of decor from our inventory, so we were able to deliver a lot of it during this time as well!
THE MORNING
When the wedding day arrived, the Minnesota fall weather was perfect! The ladies got ready inside the house with PALINDROME perfecting their hair and makeup. When the RE team arrived on site, it was clear that the home was buzzing with excitement! Rose was looking absolutely stunning in her dress from Bridal Aisle and Greg was looking spiffy in his suit from Daniel’s Custom Clothing.
Once they were finished with all of their getting ready details, it was time for the first looks! Rose started by having a first look with her father, which was emotional and filled with so much love. M Place Productions then set Rose and Greg up for their first look. This sweet moment was filled with happy tears. You can truly see their love for one another!
M Place Productions then took the couple for portraits before inviting the wedding party to join for a few photos!
The RE duo of Kellie and Mandy kept busy all morning greeting vendors and setting up decor. Once photos wrapped up, they were ready to lead a day-of rehearsal for the wedding party. Doing rehearsals the day of the wedding are always helpful, but especially so with backyard weddings where the layout is not always as distinct. We also took this opportunity to chat with the officiant to give her a few tips, as she was a friend of the couple with minimal experience.
THE CEREMONY
The backyard ceremony space was beautifully decorated! The couple made the arch, which Studio B Floral adorned with flowers. The aisle was lined with the couple’s shepard hooks, which they had Studio B Floral add mason jar flower arrangements to. The rustic ceremony chairs were rented from our inventory and complimented the vibe of the ceremony perfectly! The RE team also helped to move these chairs to the reception tent after the ceremony was done.
Once all guests were seated, the RE team sent the wedding party down the aisle. Greg entered with his mother, followed by their simple wedding party consisting of a Best Man and a Maid of Honor. Rose then made her grand entrance escorted by both of her parents. She looked stunning!
The couple shared a sweet ceremony with elements that were unique to them. Rose even played a guitar and sang a surprise song to her groom! We love when couples find ways to make their wedding true to themselves! Rose and Greg sealed the ceremony with a long awaited kiss and made their way down the aisle as guests threw dried flower confetti!
THE RECEPTION
Guests made their way to the cocktail area where we had placed our barrels with tops as cocktail tables and set out a variety of yard games. The couple also opted to rent our bar, which One More Bartending served all the yummy drinks from (including a fun drink named after their dog)! Fork and Flair’s team walked around with passed appetizers, adding an extra touch of elegance to the experience.
Not long after, it was time for guests to find their seats for dinner under the clear top tent provided by Apres. The guest table decor consisted of our wood tables topped with white runners, table numbers, candles, and the aisle flowers from the ceremony. The couple opted to have a sweetheart table, which they rented from us, along with our gold chairs. Fork and Flair then gave us the go ahead to begin inviting guests to enjoy the buffet. Of course the food was amazing as always! For dessert, Sara’s Tipsy Pies provided a variety of miniature pies for guests to choose from, which were displayed on our hutch and Maxine Dessert Collection.
When it came to our rentals, there was one item that was a must have for Rose… our Rosie Sofa! We love the fun photos that M Place Productions captured of the couple with it.
The couple then moved to the dancing space of the tent for their sweet first dance. Following their moment, they did the traditional dances with their parents, with Rose’s mom joining the father daughter dance part way through. We loved this fun touch!
Guests then joined in on the dancing fun! The couple’s friend managed the sound system and playlists throughout the day, and did a great job staying on top of everything! The string lights that the couple added to the tent added the perfect ambiance for the remainder of the night.
While guests enjoyed socializing and dancing, the RE team began cleaning up any decor we could and packing it away per our clean up package. Since this was a Sunday wedding, we returned on Monday to pick up our decor! Apres came back on Tuesday to take down and remove the tent. What an amazing group of vendors making a seamless celebration of Rose and Greg’s love!
Rose + Greg, thank you for having Rustic Elegance on your team for your intimate wedding. Your group was so much fun and the day was filled with an abundance of love!
Big shoutout to M Place Productions for sharing these photos of the day with us!
