Sammi + Adam | Ashery Lane Farm
THE PLANNING
This beautiful Jewish wedding for Sammi and Adam at Ashery Lane Farm was one of the highlights of our summer! Rustic Elegance Owner, Kellie, did most of the planning with the bride’s mom, Cheri. This day required somewhat of a more involved and detailed timeline to incorporate Jewish traditions, so we did lots of planning to make it perfect for the couple and their 150 guests!
THE MORNING
When the wedding morning arrived, Sammi was busy getting her glam done off-site. Sheri at The Mask in Minnetonka perfected her hair, while the bride’s friend Emily did her beautiful makeup! Once everything was finished, she was picked up and chauffeured to the venue in a Rolls Royce. This was a fun surprise set up for her by her mom! Upon arriving, she slipped into her gown from The Wedding Shoppe and Adam put on his blue suit when he arrived.
The couple then stepped outside with Stef Mishica Photography to do their first look and capture a few portraits. The bride’s bouquet was a beautiful touch to their look and was perfectly cohesive with the floral decor in the ceremony and reception. The Cutting Garden never fails to impress us!
There was no access to the venue until noon, so the RE team and other vendors had to work quickly to get everything set up and ready in time. This is why we ensured the couple had a great vendor team who worked wonderfully together when we were planning!
Once the couple wrapped up with their portraits, we pulled the processional members aside to do a quick day of ceremony rehearsal. During this time the bride was hidden inside to ensure no early guests caught a glimpse of her. If you’re interested in why we love day of rehearsals, check out our blog for more details!
THE CEREMONY
The couple opted for their ceremony to take place in the venue’s beautiful vineyard ceremony site. They provided paper programs, bubbles for the recessional, and Yarmulkes for guests to grab on their way in. The RE team worked with Adagio to get the cues down, and began the processional. There were no bridesmaids or groomsmen, so the processional included the rabbi, the couple, their parents, their grandparents, 2 flower girls, and 2 ring bearers. With a few kiddos in the mix, everyone was especially glad we did a day of rehearsal! Once the group made their way down the aisle and the flower girls finished throwing their petals, it was time for Sammi’s grand entrance with her parents! She was looking absolutely stunning! We love the smiles on everyone's faces.
We love that the couple opted to have their parents stand up front with them during the ceremony. The chuppah and tallit were looking stunning at the front of the aisle, adored with florals from The Cutting Garden. Rabbi Jennifer Hartman from Temple Israel did an amazing job guiding all the steps of the traditional ceremony. They did the breaking of the glass, shared a sweet kiss, and made their way down the aisle as the happiest new Mr and Mrs!
THE RECEPTION
When the ceremony came to an end, guests made their way to the Harvest Hall that is located right next to the vineyard. We love the two separate spaces that allow guests to transition to a new location easily! D’Amico provided plenty of drinks and appetizers for guests to enjoy!
When it was nearing time for dinner, the RE team began inviting guests into the main barn to find their seats via the place cards we had set out that morning. When they entered, they were met with the most beautiful space with stunning decor! Linen Effects provided floor length ivory linens, which elevated the elegance factor. Most of the table decor was provided by The Cutting Garden. We loved the variation of the 3 different tablescapes! When guests were mingling during social hour, we grabbed the arch pieces and aisle flowers from the ceremony and repurposed them on the fireplace mantel. The florist added a bunch of candles, which the RE team made sure were lit before the guests arrived. We loved this focal point in the room!
The couple did a grand entrance into the main barn and went directly into their first dance. Guests were standing in front of the door as they entered which made the moment so inclusive and great for photos!
Adagio then opened up the dance floor to everyone and guests danced to a few songs while the couple took sunset photos with Stef Mishica Photography!
Once the couple returned, they joined their parents at the head table and guests took their seats. The bride’s parents gave a welcome speech, followed by the bride’s brother and sister-in-law saying a prayer over the bread and wine. Then it was officially time to eat! Nobody would realize it, but there had been chaos earlier that day with catering preparations. D’Amico had a fire in their off-site kitchen that morning and had to remake all of the food. They were nervous and so was the RE team, but dinner was scheduled at 8pm and D’Amico got it served right on time! This is why we stress the importance of professional and trusted vendors. Not everyone can have a fire in the morning and still pull together a delicious plated dinner with a wine pour on time!
The couple didn’t forget about the sweets either! Each table had a beautiful plate of the best little chocolates from Donamae’s Sweet Studio. In addition to that, D’Amico provided a yummy array of treats for the dessert table, which also had the couple’s cutting cake from Lunds & Byerlys.
As dinner progressed, we cued the speeches from the couple and both of their parents. They were all so fun to hear!
We then moved into the father/daughter and mother/son dances which were so sweet to watch! As the parent dances wrapped up, Adagio began the traditional Horah dance (but with no lifting of the chairs). We loved the excitement and smiles on everyone’s faces as they participated in the dance!
Everyone spent the remainder of the night dancing with DJ Anna (who was amazing as always), enjoying drinks served up by D'Amico, and taking pictures in the photo booth provided by Twin Cities Photo Booth. Meanwhile, the RE team made sure everything got cleaned up and packed away the decor in the designated cars.
When the night came to a close, the couple departed in a limo provided by Renee’s Limousines. It was truly such a fun and successful day celebrating this lovely couple!
Sammi + Adam, thank you for having Rustic Elegance on your team! We had a wonderful time working with you and Cheri.
Shoutout to Stef Mishica Photography for sharing these fun photos with us!
