THE PLANNING

Kerra and Johnny’s wedding was a wild ride, but it turned out so amazing! These two were full of great energy despite their struggles with Covid planning and a big storm the day of their wedding. We had a big team for this wedding, lead planner Kellie was assisted by three of our outstanding team members. The RE Team worked very hard to assure that the day would go as smoothly as possible. This was actually our second time working with this family. We also coordinated the bride’s cousin’s backyard wedding back in 2018 (you can read more about that HERE).

THE MORNING

The storm brewing throughout the day did not put a damper on this wedding party (this is why we always have a rain plan)! The ladies got dolled up with Andria Johnson Artistry and Becca Lillemo at the Nicolin Mansion B and B and the guys got ready at the reception site (the groom’s parents' house). Since we knew there was going to be a big storm later in the day, our team went into action! We went over the reception site making adjustments to accommodate the weather. This included duct taping electrical cord connections, getting more side walls from the rental company, zip tying the walls to the tent poles, and getting plenty of towels and mops ready. In order to provide social distancing, we had two tents and seated people with their families. There were also picnic tables outside to allow people to spread out.

THE CEREMONY

The couple decided to do a first look before the ceremony (which was so sweet)! They also posed for a few couple’s shots and wedding party photos with Carly Mac Photography

The ceremony took place in the gorgeous St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Due to Covid, the ceremony guest count was limited to 80 family members. Both the bride and groom were escorted down the aisle by both of their parents, the whole scene was so intimate and special!

THE RECEPTION

After the ceremony, the guests gathered at the groom’s parents house where the reception was being held. This Little Piggy (TLP) provided appetizers and Carly Mac Photography provided a moon arch photo booth, which guests enjoyed as they socialized during cocktail hour! The wedding party made their grand entrance into the tent before dinner to “Forever” by Chris Brown. The couples were super creative with their entrances which was so fun to watch!

It was around this time that the storm started to pick up. Halfway through the buffet dinner, everyone’s phones went off with a tornado alert! The chandeliers began to sway, but the tent stayed intact and guests were dry underneath. The RE team jumped in to help TLP serve the buffet to speed things up in case the storm caused the event to end early. Thankfully, guests did not let the storm get in the way of their celebrations! The couple then had their first dance to “This Is It” by Scotty Mcquiry with the rainstorm in the background.

This was such a fun group to work with and we absolutely loved how everyone embraced the love and happiness of the night despite Covid and the storm! Kerra + Johnny, we hope you have had an amazing year of embracing all of life’s crazy moments together!

Thank you to Carly Mac Photography for capturing and sharing this day with us!
